About the Artist

As a small child, Barbara was deeply curious about the world around her. As she grew, her fascination expanded to encompass the planet and the countless creatures that call it home. During high school, Barbara began collecting insects, rodents, and occasionally amphibians. She wanted to understand these creatures—what shaped them into what they were and how they thrived in their environments. As she delved deeper into her studies, Barbara became captivated by the idea of how microscopic organisms could evolve into larger beings capable of moving from sludge to dry land. This growing understanding ignited her passion for studying evolution, genetics, and the origins of humanity.

Though delighted to explore these mysteries, Barbara’s journey was redirected by her passion for music. After much soul-searching, she realized that music was destined to become her career. Fully immersed as a professional violinist and later as a pianist and educator, she devoted herself entirely to her craft, leaving little time for other pursuits.

Many years later, a new passion emerged: photography. While Barbara had taken snapshots since childhood, she longed to master the art of creating wonderful, evocative images. For the past 20 years, she has devoted her free time to crafting these images. Her photos represent a union between the world as we know it and the artistic skill required to present it in the way it truly deserves.
